Proposal for the application of the Lean Startup methodology in a technology-based company in Goiás

Abstract

The aim of work is to propose the application of the "Lean Startup Methodology", as a way to improve the internal organization of a technology-based enterprise in Goias State. This approach to entrepreneurial management, proposes the creation of new businesses in the startups model, for assist entrepreneurs and managers in making decisions about newly created projects, based on the experimentation and validation of strategies, to increase the possibility of building a successful startup. To elaborate this work, an exploratory research was developed through a case study. The case study was carried out in a nascent technology-based company incubated at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Federal University of Goiás (CEI / UFG). Semi-structured visits and interviews were carried out with the founding entrepreneur about the company's creation and management process, about the knowledge of the lean startup methodology and its parameters. Then, the proposal to apply the methodology was made, emphasizing its importance to collaborate with the leverage of the company, especially about the development and launch of products according to the customer's needs. As a result, it was found that some of the parameters were known to the founding entrepreneur but were not used by the company. From the individual analysis of each parameter, the proposal was prepared according to the principles and tools used by the lean startup methodology.
