The present study investigated, through a systematic literature review, the metrics used for project performance evaluation through indicators. The objective was to identify and analyze the main criteria and indicators discussed in the literature, aiming to optimize information management and improve decision-making processes in projects. The research was conducted in the Web of Science (WOS) database, one of the main sources of academic documents, using bibliometric analysis methods. A total of 101 performance indicators were identified, distributed across areas such as Communication, Schedule, Cost, Scope, Stakeholders, Quality, Resources, and Risks. Among these, 34.65% are subjective in nature, depending on the judgment of senior management or individual project managers. The most cited subjective indicators included customer satisfaction, definition and verification of requirements, and the specification of roles and responsibilities of stakeholders. These results demonstrate the growing importance of qualitative factors in project evaluation and suggest the need for a more comprehensive and integrated approach to performance measurement. The study contributes to a better understanding of how projects can be evaluated beyond traditional criteria, offering a foundation for future research and management practices.
