In the mining industry, understanding the impact of technology implementation on predictive maintenance activities is essential for achieving process efficiency. Against this backdrop, the objective of this research was to analyze how installing a vibration sensor on conveyor motors affects the operational performance of train loading conducted by a large company located in northern Brazil. For this purpose, Dynalogger sensors were installed on the fans of inverters to monitor vibration and assess the motors' condition. The results obtained were then compared with a motor that did not have a sensor installed. It was found that the sensor installation provided greater predictability of maintenance needs, allowing for timely planned interventions and increasing equipment availability. Conversely, the motor without a sensor experienced unplanned stoppages, while the motors with sensors did not. It was concluded that, following sensor installation, analyzing equipment components to predict operational status proved highly valuable for gathering technical and specific information for decision-making, ultimately increasing the reliability of the activities performed.
