Sustainable Practices, Project Management, Construction IndustryAbstract
The growing focus on environmental, social, and economic issues, driven by climate disasters, energy challenges, and shifts in consumer awareness of natural resource preservation, has intensified the adoption of sustainable practices across industries. Among these, the construction sector faces significant challenges due to the environmental impact of its activities. The primary objective of this study is to propose a preliminary model for an assessment tool to evaluate sustainability practices adopted in project management by companies in the construction sector. The development of the tool, structured as a questionnaire, followed two main criteria: (1) a systematic literature review to identify the most relevant sustainability practices in project management, and (2) the adaptation of a previously validated instrument to the construction context. The Delphi method was employed to refine and validate the tool. The resulting instrument enables companies to assess sustainable practices in construction project management, supporting improvements in operational efficiency, brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with sustainability standards.
